Could you say a few words about yourself? What industry do you work in?
I am Viktor, 28 years old. I have a degree in Computer Science from Sofia University. I love math—that’s the reason I decided to pursue a degree in this field. After my second year at university, I also worked as a teaching assistant, and I love teaching. During my final year at university, while working full-time as a software engineer, I started my first “business.”
What’s one fun fact about yourself that most people don’t know?
Before I started my Computer Science degree, I spent a year studying Quantum Physics at Sofia University, but I dropped out later. I had a really fun time, and after that year, I worked in the UK for a while to save some money.
What was your first job ever? How did it shape you?
I started working at the age of 14 in a manufacturing facility in my hometown, Troyan. I spent about a month earning some money, which made me realize that working is one of the best things you can do. I felt incredible and immediately started thinking about how I could be more effective. Could I find a better-paying job or maybe do something on the side to earn and save even more? I believe the best thing that can happen to a kid is to start working as early as possible and in a real job!
What’s the last thing you learned that really surprised you?
The last thing I learned that really surprised me was how, despite all the small changes happening, the big picture of business and marketing is really slow to move. It reinforced my belief that people’s needs don’t change drastically over time—it’s just the vehicle that evolves. A great book that touches on this is *”Jobs to be Done”*. The fundamental things that drive us, like the need to travel or improve our lives, stay the same. It’s just how we go about fulfilling those needs that shifts. This realization reminded me that, while the details might change, the core principles stay steady.
What’s one professional achievement you’re most proud of and why?
Being selected for Forbes 30 Under 30 is definitely one of the achievements I’m really happy to have reached. I’ve always been anxious about time-restricted accomplishments because I believe in the long game, and somehow, being limited by time (though this is so contradictory) is not my thing.
What’s one challenge in the industry right now that excites you to solve?
Marketing, especially digital marketing, is becoming harder and harder. I believe that in the coming years, only the best will thrive, and I’m really excited to upskill myself so I can stay in business and continue growing.
What do you think is the next big trend in your industry?
Not Being sexy – Not to be controversial, but I think the era of the solo founder working remotely from a beach, dropshipping the next viral product, is over. I see a shift back to sustainability, where only businesses with solid foundations will withstand any upcoming challenges. Note: This opinion applies only to Europe, as that’s where most of my focus is.
What’s your dream project that you’d love to work on?
I believe my end-game business will be in the education sector, as I love teaching and see a lot of value to be added in order to improve society. I would love to invest in that concept.
I am just a person willing to…
To enjoy life. I don’t have a grand plan—I simply follow my passion and try to live my life in the best way I believe I can, with the access and opportunities available to me. I take the best out of it and try to share it with the people I care for.
